Revolutionizing Car Care: Girls Auto Clinic and RFA Join Forces for a Greener, Knowledgeable Future

Shecanics and Friends, I am thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership with the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA), marking them as the first platinum sponsor for our Car Care Workshop! With their commitment to a greener world, RFA is a perfect partner for Girls Auto Clinic in our journey to empower women through automotive education.

Who is RFA?

RFA is the principal national trade association for America’s ethanol industry. They drive growth in sustainable, renewable fuels and bioproducts for a better future. Through tireless advocacy, effective research, outreach and education, its vision is to help the world by unlocking the power of renewable fuels and bioproducts.

Why RFA?

As a leading advocate for clean, renewable fuels, the Renewable Fuels Association is committed to supporting initiatives that promote workforce development and education within the automotive sector. Our shared mission is to educate and empower women through their cars, and with RFA's support, we're poised to make an even greater impact.

One of the key focuses of this partnership is to highlight the benefits of renewable fuels, such as ethanol, and how a simple change in your vehicle upkeep can have a significant impact. Choosing affordable, low-carbon American ethanol, like E15, can benefit you in several ways:

Bring Relief To Our Environment AND Your Vehicle!

Ethanol reduces carbon that causes air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions by 40-50% compared to gasoline, leading to a reduced stress on our environment and your vehicle's emissions system, resulting in fewer failures and repairs.

Save You Money

Ethanol helps keep gasoline prices down by providing more environmentally friendly options at the pump, offering potential savings for every driver.

How Much Money Can I Save By Choosing Ethanol?

Support Your Community

Ethanol is American-made. More ethanol production means more jobs and a stronger American economy while reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and foreign energy.

What is Ethanol?

Ethanol, a renewable fuel, is made from various plant materials, mostly corn. It is also known as ethyl alcohol, grain alcohol. Ethanol has been blended in gasoline in the U.S. for over 40 years, helping improve air quality, reduce carbon emissions, increase our energy independence, and lower fuel prices to consumers while delivering performance.

Understanding the three types of ethanol/gasoline mixtures available to drivers.

  1. E10: 10/90 mix of ethanol/gasoline. Interchangeable with gasoline, all vehicles can run on E10.

  2. E15: 15/85 mix of ethanol to gasoline: High–quality fuel that burns cleaner. Saves money and is better for your vehicle’s emissions system. Can be used with all vehicles made after the year 2000 and Flex Fuel Vehicles (FFV).

  3. E85 Flex Fuel: 85/15 mix of ethanol to gasoline: Alternative fuel versus gasoline, as defined by the Department of Energy. Used in FFVs. Reduces emissions by more than 40 percent.

Which Ethanol product is right for me?

While E10 is commonly found in today's gasoline, E15 and E85 offer additional advantages. If you spot E15 at the gas station, consider using it to fuel up your car and experience the benefits mentioned above. Share your experience with us by emailing workshops@girlsautoclinic.com. How is RFA helping?

Girls Auto Clinic and our Shecanic brand are in perfect alignment with RFA's values, providing a platform for women to enhance their automotive knowledge, develop practical skills, and explore opportunities within the industry.

For seven years, women from all corners of the nation have traveled to the Girls Auto Clinic Repair Center in Philadelphia for our car care workshops. The Girls Auto Clinic Car Care Workshop is an in-depth, interactive and fun way for women to learn about their cars, what maintenance they can do to prolong the life of their car (and save money), how to talk to a mechanic, and what to do in an emergency.

And now, with RFA's backing, we can extend our impact even further. Together, we are driving towards a future where automotive knowledge is accessible to all, and our vehicles run cleaner and more efficiently.

With the support of RFA's sponsorship, the Girls Auto Clinic Car Care Workshop can expand its reach, empowering more women across the country to become confident drivers and smart consumers.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) and, in particular, to Robert White for their support of our mission at Girls Auto Clinic. Your sponsorship is not just a financial contribution; it's a crucial investment in empowering women through their cars! We’re excited to get started!
