Thank You, Renewable Fuels Association: 3 Years of Platinum Sponsorship, and What's Next for Shecanic.

This past June, I got to fulfill a dream: creating Car Care badges for the Girl Scouts of America to wear on their vests.

It's the kind of thing I've pictured since I first started Girls Auto Clinic and the Shecanic Brand — teaching young girls to know their car and how to take care of it, check their tire pressure, and trust themselves under the hood, long before they ever get behind the wheel.

This summer, that dream became real!

The Shecanic Foundation, Girls Auto Clinic’s non-profit, hosted a series of car care workshops for six Girl Scouts Troops. 30 of these new drivers joined us to earn to the badge of Shecanic and say yes to building confidence in the male dominated automotive industry.

None of it happens without the people who believe in this mission. I want to say a huge thank you to Robert White and Renewable Fuels Association (RFA), our Platinum sponsor for the Girls Auto Clinic Car Care Workshop for three years running and being the Sponsor for our Girl Scouts of the USA Car Care Workshop Series.

What RFA's sponsorship made possible this summer

With RFA's support, we hosted three workshops this summer for five Girl Scout troops across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The girls learned how to:

  • Pop their hoods

  • Jump-start a car

  • Check tire pressure

  • Check and add oil

  • And so much more

Watching them ask questions, get their hands dirty, and realize they belong in that auto shop — that's the whole reason we do this work.

And of course, the cherry on top — Shecanic Car Care Badges for each Girl Scout to adorn her vest. How exciting!

The demand is bigger than we can keep up with — and RFA is helping us grow

Here's the honest truth: we get requests from Girl Scout troop leaders across PA, NJ, DE, and MD faster than my team and I can keep up with. There are so many girls who want this experience, and so many troop leaders ready to bring it to them.

Thanks to RFA's continued platinum sponsorship, we're able to say yes to more of them. This year, that support is funding two new workshops in the DMV area, and in 2027, we're expanding our monthly community Car Care Workshop into the DMV as well — which means we'll be able to reach twice as many women in our community.

Why sponsorship dollars matter

Sponsorship isn't just what makes growth possible — it's what keeps every single workshop free for the people attending. Car care education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of what's in their wallet, and partners like RFA are what make that a reality instead of just a nice idea.

If you are interested in Sponsoring our Girls Auto Clinic Car Care Workshop please email hello@shecanicfoundation.org. We’d love to hear from you and talk more about how we can reach more women drivers!

To Robert White and the whole team at Renewable Fuels Association: thank you for believing in this mission for three years and counting. Here's to reaching even more girls and women together.
