Girls Auto Clinic Shop Assistant
Let’s be real with you…
We don't just need an assistant. We need a Spirit Director — someone whose energy sets the tone the moment a customer walks through our doors. Girls Auto Clinic's mission is to educate and empower women through their cars, and we live it every day by hiring and training women mechanics, creating automotive education and resources, and delivering honest repair services right here in Philadelphia. Our mission is simple but powerful:
Educate.Empower.Create a space where women feel respected, understood, and confident when it comes to their vehicles.
You'll be the heartbeat of the customer experience — and the right hand that keeps our operation, and our founder, running smooth.
What this role really is:
You wear two hats, and you wear them with energy: The customer experience. You manage how it feels to be a GAC customer — warm, upbeat, organized, handled. You help keep our reputation as a staple and destination in the Philadelphia market. The office support. You keep the Repair Center running effectively and efficiently, providing administrative support to our operations team. This is for someone who loves people, loves to help, and can run independently without being told twice.
What you'll own day to day:
The customer experience
Greet every customer with warmth, professionalism, and that signature upbeat spirit. Manage the customer journey from the first phone call to pick-up so every interaction feels handled. Answer phones and respond to emails and texts — fast, friendly, and on-brand. Schedule appointments and keep the front desk calm and welcoming. Help maintain GAC's reputation as a staple and destination in Philadelphia.
Office & operations support Keep front office files and records organized, in the shop and in Google Drive. Manage and collect customer payments. Provide administrative and clerical support to Repair Center operations. Be a direct right hand to operations and General Manager. Spot what needs doing and do it — helping the shop run effectively and efficiently.
What success looks like:
There are two goals for this role, and everything you do ladders up to them: Manage GAC's customer experiences in a way that upholds our brand mission — auto repair catered to women. Support Repair Center operations so the shop runs effectively and efficiently.
Who this is for:
Someone who: Brings a great, upbeat spirit — people feel it the second they meet you Loves customer service and genuinely enjoys engaging with people Is organized, reliable, and always ready to help Is comfortable working independently and managing their own time Wants to learn and grow, personally and professionally
And most importantly… This is for someone who wants their work to mean something in an industry that hasn't always felt welcoming to everyone.
Important to us:
Girls Auto Clinic exists to change the experience women have in the automotive industry. We are intentional — deeply intentional — about creating opportunities for women and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in automotive. This is not a checkbox. It is who we are and how we operate. If you share that commitment, you belong here.
We strongly encourage women and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in automotive to apply. We want someone who loves this city, understands its culture, and wants to see Girls Auto Clinic become a staple Philadelphia brand.
